Trade WindsFREIGHT

When it absolutely has to get there.

International freight across seven regions — ocean, air, road and drone. We build the route, clear the paperwork, and stay on the shipment until someone signs for it.

Cargo rarely gets lost. It gets handed off.

Most shipments don't fail at sea. They fail in the seams — at the terminal gate, at the customs desk, at the rail head, at the last fifty kilometres. Every handoff adds a document, a fee, a delay, and one more party who can tell you it wasn't their leg.

We exist to close those seams. One operator plans the route, secures the capacity, files the paperwork and answers the phone, from collection to final signature.

A TYPICAL CONTAINER CHANGES HANDS

  • Origin forwarderCollection and export filing
  • TerminalGate-in, stacking, loading
  • Ocean carrierMain leg and transshipment
  • Discharge portUnloading, storage clock starts
  • Customs brokerEntry, duties, inspection
  • HaulierDrayage and inland run
  • Final mileDelivery and proof

Four ways to move it. One team behind all of them.

Different cargo wants different treatment. A pallet of components holding up a production line has nothing in common with a container of seasonal stock. We build the route around the shipment instead of forcing the shipment into a fixed service.

Ocean freight
VOLUME OVER SPEED TRADE WINDS

Full and part container loads across the lanes we serve, with consolidation for shipments that don't justify a box of their own.

  • FCL and LCL booking against contracted allocations
  • Consolidation and deconsolidation at both ends
  • Port-to-port, door-to-port, or full door-to-door
  • Bills of lading, origin certificates, export filing
  • Container tracking with milestone alerts
Air cargo
WHEN THE DATE WINS TW TRADE WINDS FREIGHT

Air moves in days what ocean moves in weeks. We book scheduled belly and freighter space, and arrange charter when a consignment can't wait for the next slot.

  • Scheduled air freight on contracted capacity
  • Charter for oversized, urgent or exclusive-use cargo
  • Temperature-controlled and time-definite handling
  • Dangerous goods through certified handlers
Road and inland
THE LEG THAT DECIDES TRADE WINDS FREIGHT

A container that clears the port on time and then waits four days for a truck hasn't arrived. We run the inland leg with the same attention as the ocean crossing.

  • Long-haul trucking and regional distribution
  • Port drayage and container haulage
  • Cross-border road freight where lanes permit
  • Heavy, oversized and project cargo via specialists
Drone delivery
WHERE THE ROAD STOPS TRADE WINDS

Autonomous cargo drones close the final gap on routes where the road is limited, unreliable or simply too slow for the consignment. Flown by certified operating partners under the civil aviation approvals that apply in each country.

  • Last-mile delivery to access-constrained destinations
  • Urgent low-payload movement
  • Remote and inland sites on supported corridors

Seven regions. Depth on each, not a world map with pins.

Anyone can quote a route on paper. What decides whether it moves is having someone at the far end who knows the port, answers the phone at 3am local, and has standing with the authorities. Our network is built around these corridors.

Africa

East and West African corridors where the inland leg, not the ocean crossing, sets the transit time.

India and South Asia

Nhava ShevaMundraChennaiColombo

Both an origin market and a gateway. Documentation density here punishes first-timers; our partners handle it daily.

Asia

The manufacturing source for most of what our customers move, with consolidation for buyers sourcing from several suppliers at once.

Europe

High-frequency gateway ports with dense inland road and rail connections into the interior.

The Balkans

Often faster into Central Europe than the northern ports, and consistently overlooked by forwarders without people on the ground.

North America

Our home market. United States, Canada and Mexico, with inland coverage across the continent.

South America

Commodity and manufactured flows in both directions, on lanes where schedule reliability varies sharply by carrier.

Most of what you pay us for happens when something goes wrong.

On a long enough timeline, every shipment meets a problem. The difference between a two-day delay and a two-week one is whether someone noticed early and had the authority to act. That is the work.

Customs holds

Documentation reviewed before the vessel sails, not after the hold is issued. When an entry is queried, our brokers respond locally and in the right language.

Port congestion

We watch berth and yard conditions on our lanes and reroute or re-slot before your container joins the queue.

Demurrage and detention

The storage clock starts the moment the box lands. We track free time per shipment and chase collection before charges begin, rather than passing you the invoice afterwards.

Rolled containers

When a carrier bumps your box to the next sailing, we go to alternatives we already hold capacity with instead of starting a fresh search.

Damage and shortfall

Carrier liability is capped by international convention and is rarely enough. We arrange proper cargo cover and manage the claim if you need it.

The inland surprise

Cleared cargo that sits waiting on a truck hasn't arrived. Haulage is booked with the main leg, not after it.

OPERATING AUTHORITY

Licensed where it counts, in every market we serve.

Trade Winds Freight and its partner network hold the operating licences, customs authorisations and carrier agreements required in each jurisdiction on our lanes. Where a movement calls for a specialist permission, it is carried out by a partner licensed for exactly that work under the local regulator — not improvised.

We are carrier-independent by design. We hold no vessels or aircraft of our own, so we have no equipment to fill and no reason to put your cargo anywhere but the route that actually serves it. What we hold instead is contracted capacity across a vetted network, and the responsibility for the outcome.

  • CUSTOMSEntry and clearance filed by licensed brokers in each destination market.
  • CARRIERSSpace booked only with lines and operators holding current authority on the route.
  • HAZARDOUSDangerous goods handled by partners certified for the class being moved.
  • AVIATIONDrone operations flown under the approvals issued by each country's civil aviation authority.
  • INSURANCECargo cover placed through licensed brokers, above and beyond capped carrier liability.

Send the lane and the deadline. You'll get routing options and a quote back from a specialist — fastest, cheapest, and the one we'd choose ourselves, with the reasoning attached.
